  23. WHAT IS THE GRAPHICS FACTORY?
  24.  
  25. The Graphics Factory is a fascinating and useful way to create and 
  26. explore patterns and graphics that can be used for hundreds of 
  27. applications.  Explore the infinite world or fractals or experiment with 
  28. artifical life with cellular automatons.  Create marble backgrounds or 
  29. cloud textures.  Generate repeatable patterns that can be tiled.  Employ 
  30. modules which randomly build entire landscape pictures.  Interactively 
  31. control the flow of drawing or let your module run overnight to produce 
  32. hundreds of patterns automatically. Create textures, backgrounds, designs,
  33. repeatable tiles, patterns, artwork, landscapes, clouds, woods, marbles,
  34. and more.  This Windows program uses advanced algorithms and procedures
  35. such as noise, turbulence, magnetics, and life to work its graphic magic.
  36. Drawing types include, lines, boxes, pixels storm, sphere, fractals and over
  37. 30 more. Effects include, wave, smear, transparency, jitter, filters, sphere
  38. projection and over 40 more.

  40. The Graphics Factory can be used at two distinct levels.  At one level 
  41. you as the user can load existing modules and use these modules to 
  42. create the images.  But the second level is where the real power is.  At 
  43. the second level you modify or create your own modules, controlling 
  44. each factory in the module by setting the numerous parameters 
  45. available for each.

  47. You can consider The Graphics Factory as a procedural drawing 
  48. program.  So rather than drawing each stroke of a picture, advanced 
  49. algorithms are employed to do the work for you.  But don't be alarmed, 
  50. no programming is needed.  All options, settings and parameters are 
  51. set with dialog boxes.

  57. Compuserve, America On-Line, the internet at the Kamyan Software site (address 
  58. at top), in shareware catalogs, shareware CD-ROMS and on most BBS's.

  61. WHAT IS A MODULE?
  62.  
  63. A Graphics Factory module is a file that holds all of the parameters and 
  64. instructions that someone has set which generates specific images, graphics
  65. or patterns.

  68. ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN SCAPE MODULE
  69.  
  70. This is a module for The Graphics Factory which will generate partially random
  71. mountain landscape scenes.  The clouds should appear different each time as 
  72. well as the location of the mountain peaks.  The coloring used in this module
  73. does not change but can be changed easily.

  75. When you load this module into The Graphics Factory you will see a number of 
  76. individual factories.  All of these factories have a limited life and are 
  77. run in a sequence.  The sky layer is first, then clouds and some haze.  Next
  78. eight mountain peaks are drawn on screen in 4 levels.  In between each level 
  79. haze is added to give the appearance of distance.  And last a white mist is 
  80. added at the bottom of the mountains.
